Method of constructing of a building comprising a base portion 301 with a channel 305 with a substantially horizontal base 306, side walls 307, 308 and enclosing flanges 309, 310. An apparatus comprising plurality of vertical support elements 101 are inserted within the enclosed channel, with each vertical support element including a channel plate 102 for retention within the enclosed channel and a substantially vertical spigot 103 extending from the enclosed channel, such that horizontal movement within the channel facilitates the positioning of the vertical support elements. Vertical movement is prevented by said enclosing flanges. A respective spring plate 601 is engaged upon each of the vertical spigots and a vertical panel support member 902 is retained upon each of said spring plates, wherein said vertical members include a hollow opening 903 for receiving a respective spring plate. Also claimed is the apparatus comprising the channel plate, spigot and spring plate.
