Combined thermal heater cooler sensor tap and valve
A fluid supply system comprises a tap 3 with an inlet and an outlet, a heat transfer plate 6, a fluid source with an outlet, a fluid conduit between the tap inlet and the fluid source outlet, and in thermal contact with the heat transfer plate. A thermoelectric module 1 thermally contacts the heat transfer plate, a controller 4, an electrical power source 9, a user interface and a valve 5 for selectively allowing fluid to flow through the fluid conduit. When the controller receives a request from the user interface for the tap to dispense fluid, the controller causes the valve to open to allow fluid to flow through the fluid conduit. When the controller receives a request for an increase in the temperature of the fluid, the controller causes the source of electrical power to apply a voltage across the thermoelectric module such that it transfers heat to the heat transfer plate. When the controller receives a request for a decrease in the temperature of the fluid, the controller causes the source of electrical power to apply a voltage across the thermoelectric module such that it transfers heat from the heat transfer plate. The thermoelectric modules transfer heat/electricity by the Peltier/Seebeck method.
