Sash and case windows with secondary glazing
A method of installing a secondary glazing panel 40 in a sash and case window 10. The panel comprises at least one sheet of glazing material 44 and a support assembly 42 which has first and second rigid vertical support members to support an edge of the glazing material 44. The method comprises removing vertical staff beads of the sash and case window 10 from an interior side of the window; then positioning the secondary glazing panel 40 such that the first and second rigid vertical support members are located in place of the removed vertical staff bead so the support assembly retains one of the sashes. The support members may extend in a direction orthogonal to the plane of the glaze such that they do not abut against a shutter 34. There may be a seal which extends from the support members. The glazing panel may have a second sheet of glazing material and the support members may contain channels for the glazing material. A sash and case window arrangement comprising the glazing panel is also disclosed.
