A flood-protective ventilation louver which includes; a window frame 11, 12, 13 with positioning frame members; slats 21 with a top pivot; a transmission mechanism with a connecting piece 31 and a moving piece 32; and a buoyance switch assembly 4. During flooding water passes into the buoyance switch assembly which activates the transmission mechanism to allow the slats to close. The bottom of the frame may have a receptacle portion. The side frames may have channels with water-resisting strips and the slats may have an internal constraint bar. The moving piece 32 may be an elongate body with a sliding channel which connects with wings of the connecting piece. The buoyant switch assembly may have a float with an end pivotally connected to the bottom box.
