A habitat 1 comprising a chamber 2 that has an air inlet 4 and an air outlet 6, at least one floor member 2c, at least one ceiling member 2d, at least one wall member 2b that has a fastening device (16, figure 6) for attaching the at least one wall member to another wall member of the chamber, a floor member of the chamber, and/or a ceiling member of the chamber, and an access point is configured to allow access to the chamber. An air supply system 10 is operable to control the flow of air between the air inlet and air outlet of the chamber to maintain a pressure difference between the inside 2a of the chamber and the outside 3 of the chamber. There may be multiple wall members with respective fastening devices and the floor member may also have a fastening device for attaching to other floor, wall or ceiling members. The wall, floor and ceiling members may form a seal when attached together.
