Door assembly for passenger seating
A door assembly 30 comprising a base 32 having a leading end 52 in which a recess (50, fig1) is formed and a door 34 having a leading end 33 and a rearward end 54; the door is curved in cross section, the door is pivotable with respect to the base between an closed state (figure 1) and an open state (figure 2) about at least one pivot axis and where in the open state the rearward end of the door is located in the recess. The recess may be provided by a cut-out portion in the leading edge of the leading end of the base. The recess may be formed along substantially the entire length of the leading end of the base. The recess may be shaped like the base and the base may be shaped like the door. The door may comprise a first part 34A pivotally coupled to a second part (34B,fig4A) at a pivot interface (84,fig4A). The door assembly may be part of a surround structure (14,fig1) in at which at least one passenger seat (12,fig1) is located. The door may also slide into a compartment 42 located in the base to open it.
