Method for installing an anchoring system
A method for installing an off-shore anchoring system 1 comprising drilling a borehole 5 in a seabed, the borehole 5 comprising a lower portion (14, Figure 3) in communication with a upper portion 15. The cross-sectional dimensions of the lower portion (14, Figure 3) are smaller than the cross-sectional dimensions of the upper portion 15. An inwardly protruding abutment surface 16 is provided at a transition point located therebetween. A settable locking media, preferably cement or grout, is introduced into the borehole 5, preferably into the lower portion (14, Figure 3) and up to the transition point. An off-shore anchoring system 1 is introduced into the settable locking media within the borehole 5, the off-shore anchoring system 1 comprising an anchor pile 2 and a lateral load transition member 4. The anchor pile 2 is located within the lower portion (14, Figure 3), and the lateral load transition member 4 is located within the upper portion 15 and is spaced apart from the anchor pile 2, preferably by an intermediate portion 3. The method provides a solution to significant lateral loading experienced through a mooring line or tether in Floating Offshore Wind projects.
