An adaptable assembly including a container unit 2 and a further unit 4, for example a lockable key safe, and said assembly is adaptable between a first configuration in which the further unit is at least partially concealed and a second configuration in which a user can access the further unit. The container unit could be a garden planter for the holding soil and plants and hide the security function of the assembly. The transition between the two configurations could be the sliding of the container unit on a guide 12 or rail 8, or a door which can be opened and allow access to the key safe (Figure 5), which may have a lockable door. Also claimed is a planter comprising a container and support means (e.g. a rail (108 Figure 6b) to provide support for a person interacting with the planter, e.g. walking around their garden.
