Roof tile
A roof tile is disclosed which has an inner and an outer face 102; and an upper and a lower edge. It also has a fixing means or washer positioned on the outer face which is attached, in a suspended position, to the tile by a frangible or breakable section 310. When fixing the tile to a roof, the frangible section breaks and the fixing means is no longer suspended; the fixing means fixes the tile to an underlying surface. The tile also has a captive channel 308 which holds the fixing means by friction when the tile is secured. The tile may have indica on the outer face to inform a user of the amount of overlap with a neighbouring tile, and the tile may have engagement members 110, 112 which engage with engagement members of a neighbouring tile in use. The engagement members may be a rail and a recess. A set of tiles is also claimed.
