Software based cylinder cushioning in a work machine with electrohydraulic control and bucket shake function
A control system 10 for a work machine 1 comprising a hydraulically actuated implement 2, where a control signal 13 moves an actuator 3 at an implement speed through a range of movement. A controller 11 determines the implements position and receives an operator input signal to move the implement, from which an actuator control signal is generated. The controller defines a limit speed which reduces as the implement approaches a limit (Xlim1, Xlim2) to the range of motion. If the operator input signal exceeds the limit speed, the controller limits the implement speed to the limit speed. The controller can identify a hard stop command, causing the system to operate in a hard stop mode where the instrument speed is not limited to the limit speed. Cylinder cushioning and bucket jarring modes are enabled. An associated machine and method are also claimed.
