Fence-support apparatus, comprising a ground-locatable box 201 comprising a rear plate 203 and a covered end 207 that includes an orifice 208 for receiving a ground penetrating screw (911 figs 9, 10), a channel section 211 comprising a first horizontal plate 213 extending from the rear plate and including first and second holes 214, 215 for receiving respective first and second tubular legs (105, 107 figs 1, 6) of adjacent fence panels, a second horizontal plate 222 including third and fourth holes 223, 224 for receiving the respective first and second legs. The apparatus is deployable in a first configuration where an open end 206 of the box is ground side and the penetration of the screw is limited by the height of the covered end, and a second configuration where the covered end is ground side and the penetration of the screw is not limited. The apparatus may comprise an arm extending from a rear plate of the box, with a lug extending from its first end for engagement with an arm-locating slot in the rear plate. A second end of the arm may be attached to a ground-engaging plate which has an orifice for receiving a second ground engaging screw.
