A vision panel assembly, for use in a fire door, with first 101 and second 102 window panels spaced from a fire-rated vision panel 103 sandwiched between them. The vision panel is larger than the second window panel so an outer perimeter of the vision panel forms a first abutment surface 106 suitable for use with a second abutment surface of a door leaf. The entire outer perimeter of the vision panel may extend beyond the second window panel and the first and second window panels may be spaced from the vision panel by at least one spacer 104, 105. Also provided is a door leaf for use in a fire door, and a fire door comprising a vision panel assembly and a door leaf. A method of assembling a vision panel assembly, a door leaf and a fire door are also defined.
