Floor tile and method for manufacture of floor tile
A non-combustible flooring tile is disclosed which is slab moulded from an inorganic material slurry (such as fibre reinforced concrete). It has a metal fixing 20 moulded into (or cast-in) the slab layer so that the tile may be attached to a flooring substructure. The metal fixing may have a recess and an anchor portion, where the anchor portion holds the fixing within the slab. The metal fixing may be positioned at the bottom or the side of the slab. A method of installation of external flooring is defined, as is flooring and a kit of parts. The method may be for installing the tile on a balcony, terrace or patio. A method of manufacture is also disclosed which specifies manufacturing a slab from a mould. An inorganic material-based slurry is poured into a mould, where a metal fixing is moulded into the slab and the fixing may be located in the mould before the slurry is poured.
