Bolt assembly
The invention relates to a bolt assembly 10 for a door or window. The bolt assembly comprises; a housing 15; a lever 20 configured to rotate about a pin 25 between a first position and a second position. A sliding member 45 is located within the housing, and comprises a resilient member 60. The sliding member is coupled to the lever via the resilient member and a bolt 80 is coupled to the sliding member. Rotation of the lever from the first position to an intermediate position compresses the resilient member; rotation of the lever from the intermediate positon to the second position decompresses the resilient member. The decompression is translated into linear motion of the sliding member into a bolted configuration wherein the bolt coupled to the sliding mechanism extends from the perimeter of the housing; wherein the lever does not extend beyond the perimeter of the housing when the lever is in at least the first position and the second position. The invention also relates to a kit of parts comprising a door or window and a bolt assembly.
