An electronic padlock including a lock body, a fingerprint panel configured for operation of the padlock from a locked mode to an unlocked mode; the padlock having a shackle with a long leg and a short leg, at least one bolt configured to engage with or disengage with the shackle. Preferably there is a first rotatable cam 80 with a blocking surface 85 and an indent 82 which either blocks the bolt 70 or permits disengagement of the bolt 70 from the shackle; a second rotating cam with a sloping surface 91a drives the first cam. Preferably there are two bolts 70 spring biased into the engagement with the shackle; the padlock automatically locking upon insertion of the shackle. The first cam is preferably spring biased into the blocking position preventing disengagement of shackle detaining bolts 70. The padlock may also be wireless unlocked.
