PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for controlling motorcycles, the apparatus that enables the handle lock unlocking of eliminating the need for time-consuming operation serving as a condition of transmitting a request signal for authentication and engine starting, and prevents careless engine starting while eliminating the need for time-consuming operation.SOLUTION: An authentication unit 70 of an apparatus 50 for controlling motorcycles transmits a first request signal RS1 to a portable unit 60 on the basis of the detection of a grip sensor 12. A handle locking and unlocking control unit 51 brings a handle 10 into an unlocking state, when the authentication unit 70 receives a regular first reply signal AS1 to the first request signal. Further, the authentication unit 70 transmits a second request signal RS2 to the portable unit on the basis of the detection of a sheet sensor 21 in the unlocking state of the handle 10. An engine starting control unit 52 starts the engine 30 when the authentication part 70 receives a regular second reply signal AS2 to the second request signal.
【課題】 認証のための要求信号送信の条件となる手間のかかる操作を不要とするハンドルロック解錠とエンジン始動が可能となると共に、手間のかかる操作を不要としつつも不用意なエンジン始動を回避する自動二輪用の制御装置を提供する。【解決手段】 自動二輪用制御装置５０の認証部７０は、グリップセンサ１２の検出に基づいて第１要求信号ＲＳ１を携帯機６０に対して送信し、ハンドル施解錠制御部５１は、認証部７０が第１要求信号に対する正規の第１応答信号ＡＳ１を受信した場合に、ハンドル１０を解錠状態とし、さらに、認証部７０は、ハンドル１０の解錠状態におけるシートセンサ２１の検出に基づいて第２要求信号ＲＳ２を携帯機に対して送信し、エンジン始動制御部５２は、認証部７０が第２要求信号に対する正規の第２応答信号ＡＳ２を受信した場合にエンジン３０を始動する。【選択図】 図１
