PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire reel which can detect light transmitted through a transmission hole, without being affected by irregularities on a wire reel surface, and which can increase accuracy of detection of rotational information.SOLUTION: A wire reel includes: a hub part 43 that is formed in a cylindrical shape; flanges 44 and 45 that are provided on both sides of the hub part 43; an inner cylinder 40 that is almost coaxially formed in a central part of the hub part 43; and a side wall 60 that connects the inner cylinder 40 and the hub part 43 together. A recess 47 is formed of the inner cylinder 40, an inside surface of the hub part 43, and the side wall 60. A plurality of translucent parts 64, which allow light transmission, are formed in a circumferential direction of the side wall 60 within the recess.
