PIEZOELECTRIC CERAMIC, METHOD FOR PRODUCING PIEZOELECTRIC CERAMIC, PIEZOELECTRIC ELEMENT, AND ELECTRONIC APPARATUS
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric ceramic which has a high mechanical quality factor and small electric power consumption, and does not contain lead and alkali metals, and to provide a piezoelectric element using the same.SOLUTION: Provided is a piezoelectric ceramic which comprises a perovskite type metal oxide, containing barium titanate, and Mn and which has remnant polarization. When a surface along a direction of the remnant polarization of the piezoelectric ceramic is chosen as a measuring surface, the (002)/(200) diffraction intensity ratio according to X-ray diffraction of the measuring surface at room temperature is 1.0 or more, a ratio c/a of the lattice constant c of the c axis and the lattice constant a of the a axis of the piezoelectric ceramic at room temperature is 1.004≤c/a≤1.010, and a half band width of the (002) diffraction peak at room temperature is 1.2° or less. Also provided is a piezoelectric element using the piezoelectric ceramic.
