PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switchgear which is favorable in the workability of an obstacle sensing structure.SOLUTION: A switchgear comprises: an opening/closing body main body 11 which can be closed by own weight while sliding; a movable seat plate 12 which is connected to a lower end part of the opening/closing body main body 11, and can move upwardly with respect to the opening/closing body main body 11; a brake mechanism 42 which brakes a closing operation of the opening/closing body main body 11, and releases the braked state; and a seat plate conjunction mechanism A which brings the brake mechanism 42 into the braked state from the released state in conjunction with the upward movement of the movable seat plate 12 during the closing operation of the opening/closing body main body 11. The seat plate conjunction mechanism A comprises a tension increase mechanism 90 which increases the tension of a string-shaped member by the upward movement of the movable seat plate 12, and is constituted so as to operate the brake mechanism 42 to the braked state from the released state by the tension of the string-shaped member. The tension by the tension increase mechanism 90 is adjustable at a lower part rather than the brake mechanism 42.
