PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration generating apparatus capable of achieving both of acceleration of the vibrating generation apparatus and reduction in the manufacturing cost.SOLUTION: A vibration generating apparatus includes a first vibration generating piston 21, a first advancing operation chamber 13a, a first retreating operation chamber 13b, and switching means for alternately guiding high pressure oil into the first advancing operation chamber 13a and the first retreating operation chamber 13b. The switching means includes a second cylinder housing 12 having a second cylinder hole 12a arranged in parallel with a first cylinder hole 11a, a second vibration generating piston 22 stored in the second cylinder hole 12a so as to be advanced and retreated by following the advancing and retreating movement of the first vibration generating piston 21, a second advancing operation chamber 14a, and a second retreating operation chamber 14b. A relief mechanism 30 capable of discharging the high pressure oil from one of the second advancing operation chamber 14a and the second retreating operation chamber 14b when the first vibration generating piston 21 and the second vibration generating piston 22 are in the neutral state is provided in the second vibration generating piston 22.
