METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING GADOLINIUM OXYSULFIDE (Gd2O2S) CERAMIC SCINTILLATOR
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for swiftly manufacturing gadolinium oxysulfide (having a chemical formula of GdOS, and abbreviated as GOS) ceramic scintillator.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for manufacturing ceramic scintillator using a two stage sintering process consisting of a discharge plasma sintering (SPS) 1002 and a hot isotropic compression sintering (HIP) 1004. In the two stage sintering process, a primary sintered body having closed pores is produced in accordance with a discharge plasma sintering (SPS) process 1002 and a final high density secondary sintered body is produced in accordance with a sintering process 1004 by hot isotropic compression of inert gas, and the secondary sintered body is treated, to then manufacture GOS ceramic scintillator.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】ガドリニウムオキシサルファイド(化学式Gd2O2Sを有し、GOSと略称)セラミックシンチレータを迅速に製造する方法の提供。【解決手段】放電プラズマ焼結(SPS)1002と熱間等方圧加圧焼結(HIP)1004という二階段焼結法を用いるセラミックシンチレータの製造方法。二階段焼結法は、放電プラズマ焼結(SPS)方法1002で密閉気孔を有する一次焼結体を製造することと、不活性ガスの熱間等方圧加圧による焼結方法1004で最終の高密度の二次焼結体を製造して、二次焼結体を処理した後にGOSセラミックシンチレータを製造する方法。【選択図】図1
