PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shear damper showing a larger deformation capacity and a superior durability when it receives a shear force applied by an external force.SOLUTION: A shear damper 1 is used between two members 10 relatively moved by an external force at a building. The shear damper 1 is a plate-like member and comprises: both side fixing segments 2 each of which is fixed to the two members 10; both side damaged segments 3 subsequent to the fixing segments 2 and damaged by a bending action applied by an external force; and a connecting part 4 positioned between both side damages segments 3. The damaged segments 3 have a rectangular sectional shape perpendicular to the first direction connecting between the two members 10, and satisfy a formula of y=X*b*t, where [t] is a length of side in a direction applied with a shear force at a section spaced apart only by a distance [y] from a center O in the first direction, [b] is a length of a side crossing at a right angle, and X is a constant. Sectional areas of the fixing segment 2 and the connecting part 4 are set to be larger than that determined by the aforesaid formula.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
【課題】 外力によるせん断力を受けた場合に、変形能力が大きくかつ耐久力に優れたせん断ダンパを提供する。【解決手段】 せん断ダンパ1は、建物における外力により相対移動する二つの部材10間に用いられる。せん断ダンパ1は板状であって、二つの部材10にそれぞれ固定される両側の固定部2と、固定部2に続き外力による曲げによって損傷する両側の損傷部3と、両側の損傷部3の間に位置する連結部4とを備える。損傷部3は二つの部材10間を結ぶ第1の方向と垂直な断面の形状が矩形であり、第1の方向の中心Oから距離yだけ離れた断面における、せん断力がかかる方向の辺の長さをt、直交する辺の長さをbとした場合、次式y=X・b・t2但しXは定数、の関係が成り立つ。固定部2および連結部4の断面の面積は、前記式で決定される断面の面積よりも大きくする。【選択図】 図3
