PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly waterproof and well-drained lateral roofing material with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A lower seam section 30 in a longer direction comprises: a first folding-back part 31, which is disposed on one end in the longer direction of a roof material 1 that has the longer direction and a shorter direction, and whose one end in the longer direction is folded back toward a surface side of the roofing material 1; a second folding-back part 32, which is formed by folding back the first folding-back part 31 outward in the longer direction; and a cutout part 34, which is formed by cutting out one end of the first folding-back part 31 in the shorter direction. The lateral roofing material comprises: the lower seam section in the longer direction; an upper seam section 40 in the longer direction, whose the other end in the longer direction is folded back toward a rear surface side of the roofing material 1 and which is engaged with the lower seam section 30 in the longer direction; and a third folding-back part 21, whose one end in the shorter direction is folded back together with the cutout part 34 toward the rear surface side of the roofing material 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
