PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure capable of improving purification performance.SOLUTION: A honeycomb structure 100 has a plurality of open holes 110 partitioned by a porous bulkhead 120. A coating layer 140 is formed inside an open hole 110a among the plurality of open holes 110, and the coating layer 140 covers at least a part of the bulkhead 120, and contains particles including an oxide.
