PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weir having a highly workable cross-section that helps reduce costs, and a construction method for the weir.SOLUTION: A construction method is for a weir 1 having an upstream wall part 3 installed to face an upstream side of a river, a downstream wall part 4 installed to face a downstream side of the river, and a filler material 5 filled in a space formed between the upstream wall part and the downstream wall part. The construction method includes the following steps for: constructing the upstream wall part and the downstream wall part leaving a prescribed interval in between; filling a zero-slump filling material 51 of super stiff-consistency leaving a space at least from the upstream wall part, a targeted slump value of the zero-slump filler material being 0 cm; and filling a filler material 52 having a slump value at least in a space left between the upstream wall part and the zero-slump filler material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
