METHOD FOR PRODUCING HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE, AND HONEYCOMB MOLDING
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a honeycomb structure, in which a setter is not used, which can decrease generation of a defect on the end face of the honeycomb structure and can reduce a firing cost.SOLUTION: The method 100 for producing the honeycomb structure comprises: a molding step of forming a honeycomb molding 1 having partition walls which are used for partitioning/forming a plurality of cells; a convex end part forming step of forming a convex end part 3 including convex end face 3a on the obtained honeycomb molding 1; a mounting step of facing one end face 2a, on which the convex end part 3 is formed, downward and mounting the honeycomb molding on a try board 10; a firing step of firing the honeycomb molding 1 mounted on the try board 10 to form a honeycomb fired body 20; and an end face grinding step of grinding one end face 2a of the honeycomb fired body 20 to remove the convex end part 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
【課題】ハニカム構造体の端面における不良の発生を軽減するとともに、焼成コストを抑えることが可能なトチを使用しないハニカム構造体の製造方法の提供を課題とする。【解決手段】ハニカム構造体の製造方法１００は、複数のセルを区画形成する隔壁を有する、ハニカム成形体１を形成する成形工程と、得られたハニカム成形体１に凸端面３ａを備える凸端部３を形成する凸端部形成工程と、凸端部３が形成された一方の端面２ａを下方に向け、棚板１０に載置する載置工程と、棚板１０に載置されたハニカム成形体１を焼成し、ハニカム焼成体２０を形成する焼成工程と、ハニカム焼成体２０の一方の端面２ａを研削し、凸端部３を除去する端面研削工程とを有する。【選択図】図３
