PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcement material for an inorganic composite material capable of bringing about high crack dispersibility and preventive effect of crack propagation, even with a small amount added, and an inorganic composite material using the reinforcement material for an inorganic composite material.SOLUTION: A reinforcement material has at least one defect formation member made of a material having a lower elastic modulus than metal fiber, at a position other than the end parts of the metal fiber. The reinforcement material is added into a matrix composed of a refractory material or a concrete material to bring about a crosslinking effect on cracks starting from the defect formation member leading to high crack dispersibility and preventive effect of crack propagation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
【課題】少量の添加によっても、高いひび割れ分散性と亀裂進展防止効果を得ることができる無機系複合材料用補強材、及びその無機系複合材料用補強材を使用した無機系複合材料を提供する。【解決手段】金属繊維の端部以外の箇所に、当該金属繊維より弾性率の低い材料からなる欠陥形成部材を少なくとも一つ設けた補強材である。この補強材は、耐火物材料又はコンクリート材料からなるマトリクス中に添加することで、欠陥形成部材を起点として発生したひび割れに対して架橋効果を奏し、高いひび割れ分散性と亀裂進展防止効果をもたらす。【選択図】図4
