PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous cooling apparatus and a cooling method for continuously cooling particulate matters, such as steel slag and the like, with high cooling efficiency without the necessity of drying process after cooling.SOLUTION: A continuous cooling apparatus includes a cooling cylinder part 2 which rotates with particulate matters A contained therein and transports the particulate matters A, an outer cooling part 6 which is provided outside the cooling cylinder part 2 and cools an outer face of the cooling cylinder part 2 with sprinkling water, and an inner cooling part 7 which is provided inside the cooling cylinder part 2 and splays water mist into the cooling cylinder part 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
