PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycarboxylic acid-based copolymer high in adsorption rate to cement particles, a cement dispersant high in adsorption rate to cement particles containing the polycarboxylic acid-based copolymer and a cement composition high in adsorption rate to cement particles containing the cement dispersant.SOLUTION: The polycarboxylic acid-based copolymer is a polycarboxylic acid-based copolymer containing a constitutional unit (I) derived from an unsaturated polyalkylene glycol-based monomer represented by a specific general formula (a) and a constitutional unit (II) derived from an unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer represented by a specific general formula (b) and has a chelate group in a main chain terminal of at least one of them.SELECTED DRAWING: None
