PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fork-type parking device and an operation method thereof, the fork-type parking device eliminating a plurality of transverse motion rails on a hoistway and a plurality of transverse motion mechanisms on a storage shelf, and allowing a vehicle to be transferred to a tray from a cage and the tray to be moved transversely for storing the vehicle in the storage shelf, without using a device capable of independently ascending/descending the hoistway other than the cage.SOLUTION: A cage 14 includes a cage suspension part 18 driven to be lifted/lowered along a hoistway 3 carrying a vehicle 1, and a cage body 20 mounted on a support part 18d of the cage suspension part 18, to be moved upward from the support part 18d. The cage body 20 includes: an intermediate rail 22 for supporting a tray 12; a stopper device 24 capable of making a stopper 24a emerge between a support position and a retreat position B, the support position being a position with a support by a fixed support part 13 provided on the hoistway 3, and the retreat position being a position not interfering with the fixed support part 13; and a transverse motion device 30 for moving the tray 12 transversely between a cage 14 and a storage shelf 16.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】昇降路の複数の横行用レールと格納棚の複数の横行機構を無くすことができ、かつ、昇降路を独立して昇降可能な装置をケージ以外に用いることなくケージからトレイに車両を移載し、トレイを横行させて格納棚に格納することができるフォーク式駐車装置とその運転方法を提供する。【解決手段】ケージ１４は、車両１を載せ昇降路３に沿って昇降駆動されるケージ吊部１８と、ケージ吊部１８の支持部１８ｄに載せられ支持部１８ｄより上方に移動可能なケージ本体２０とを有する。ケージ本体２０は、トレイ１２を支持する中間レール２２と、昇降路３に設けられた固定支持部１３に支持される支持位置と、固定支持部１３と干渉しない退避位置Ｂとの間でストッパ２４ａを出没可能なストッパ装置２４と、ケージ１４と格納棚１６との間でトレイ１２を横行させる横行装置３０とを有する。【選択図】図１
