CONSTRUCTION OF HYBRID TSUNAMI EMBANKMENT
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and low-priced tide embankment facility with resilience and a flood protection function, in view of a fact about numerous tide embankments destroyed in a huge tsunami at the time of Great East Japan Earthquake, during which a tsunami that overflew a tide embankment scoured a foundation ground of a rear slope surface on a downstream side and absorbed concrete lining on the rear slope surface on the downstream side, leading to erosion of the embankment and loss of an entire cross section, as well as total loss of functions as a tsunami protection facility, consequently resulting in aggravation of tsunami damages and loss of many lives, properties and infrastructures.SOLUTION: As means to solve the problem, an upright wall-type tide embankment (a hybrid tide embankment of a structure combining different types of construction materials) having a top edge height higher than a flood level accompanying a forecasted tsunami wave height is constructed behind an existing tide embankment, to withstand wave force of a tsunami wave height (about 5 m to 10 m) at a time of a magnitude 8-class earthquake.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
【課題】巨大津波の発生で既設の防潮堤の多くは先の東日本大震災時に越流した津波が下流側裏法面の基礎地盤を洗掘し下流側裏法面被覆コンクリート工を吸い上げ、盛土の侵食、全断面の喪失によって津波防御施設としての機能を完全に失った。これにより津波被害が拡大し多くの人命、財産、インフラが奪われた。この実態から既設防潮堤の強靭化と浸水防御機能を有しかつ簡易で安価な防潮堤施設が求められている。【解決手段】この問題の解決手段として、既設防潮堤背後へ予測津波高に対し浸水位より高い天端高を有する直立壁防潮堤(異種建設材料の組み合わせ構造による混成防潮堤)を構築し、マグニチュード8クラス級の津波高(5m〜10m程度)の波力に対する防御可能とする。【選択図】図11
