PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temporary support column capable of following relative displacement even when a part on the upside of a base-isolating device is relatively displaced in a horizontal direction during earthquakes.SOLUTION: A temporary support column 50 is installed between lower and upper skeletons 2 and 3. The temporary support column 50 includes: a lower mortar layer 51; a lower temporary base-isolated foundation 52; a temporary base-isolating device 53; an upper temporary base-isolated foundation 54; a hydraulic jack 55; a column material 56; an upper support girder 57; and an upper mortar layer 58. The temporary base-isolating device 53 permits horizontal relative displacement of the upper skeleton 3 with respect to the lower skeleton 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
