PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismic strengthening structure for a beam, which is used to strengthen the beam having a deficiency of flexural strength and shear strength, and a seismic strengthening method for the beam.SOLUTION: A strengthening steel plate 10 is fixed to an outdoor-side lateral surface of a beam 4 of steel framed reinforced concrete construction in a horizontally arranged state in such a manner that a cut-off part with a main reinforcement of the beam 4 reduced or a steel frame joint part of the beam 4 is set as a strengthening position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
