PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gypsum heating method, gypsum heating device and process of manufacture of gypsum in which its drying and calcination capability is improved, a processing large amount of gypsum is facilitated and its miniaturization can be attained.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a method for heating gypsum by using a heating device in which a rotary cylinder is rotated in such a way that a critical speed ratio α defined by equation 1 and equation 2 may become less than 15 to 70% to heat gypsum. Equation 1: Vc=2.21D, equation 2: α=V/Vc*100, where Vc is a critical speed of the rotary cylinder, D is an inner diameter [m] of the rotary cylinder, α is a critical speed ratio [%] of the rotary cylinder and V is a rotating speed [m/s] of the rotary cylinder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 14
