OPTICAL WAVELENGTH CONVERSION MEMBER AND LIGHT-EMITTING DEVICE
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical wavelength conversion member and a light-emitting device achieving both of high fluorescence intensity and high color homogeneity.SOLUTION: A light-emitting device 1 includes a container 3, a light-emitting element 5 and an optical wavelength conversion member 9. The optical wavelength conversion member 9 is made of a ceramic sintered body having a polycrystalline structure essentially comprising a polycrystalline transparent ceramic material having optical anisotropy (such as an alumina crystal) and a fluorescent ceramic material that is a polycrystalline ceramic material having fluorescence (such as an ABO:Ce crystal). The ceramic sintered body has a surface roughness (Ra) of 0.05 to 10 μm on a light incident surface 9a where light enters.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】高い蛍光強度と高い色均質性とを両立できる光波長変換部材及び発光装置を提供すること。【解決手段】発光装置1は、容器3と発光素子5と光波長変換部材9とを備えている。光波長変換部材9は、光学的異方性を有する多結晶透明セラミックス(例えばアルミナ結晶)と、蛍光性を有する多結晶セラミックスである蛍光セラミックス(例えばA3B5O12:Ce結晶)と、を主成分とする多結晶組織を有するセラミックス焼結体からなる。このセラミックス焼結体は、光が入射する光入射面9aにおける表面粗さ(Ra)が、0.05〜10μmである。【選択図】図1
