PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking device which can be simply and additionally attached to an existing escape ladder device that is not provided with countermeasures against vibration of an upper lid due to strong wind.SOLUTION: An elastically deformable locking device, for use in an escape ladder device that includes a frame formed at its upper and lower ends with openings, a ladder accommodated in the frame in a folded manner, an upper lid pivotably attached to the frame for closing the opening at the upper end of the frame, and a lower lid pivotably attached to the frame for closing the opening at the lower end of the frame, configured to lock between the upper lid and the frame in a detachable manner, the locking device being featured to include a fixing piece fixed to the upper lid, a suspended piece extending from the fixing piece toward the lower lid along an outside of the frame, an operating piece extending from the suspended piece toward the outside of the frame and exposed from between the upper lid and the frame, and a protrusion engaged with a hole formed in the frame and protruding from the suspended piece toward the frame to release the engagement with the hole in response to a push-up action of the operating piece.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
