To provide a suction apparatus designed such that air is introduced into a blower casing through an air introduction pipe, and to achieve a compact apparatus and reduced manufacturing cost of the apparatus.SOLUTION: A suction apparatus comprises: a receiver tank that recovers an object to be recovered; and a wet type blower 25 that increases/decreases pressure of air in the receiver tank and causes flow of air. In the blower casing of the blower 25, outside air is supplied via air introduction pipes 26a, 26b. On a pipe connected to the suction side of the blower 25, a valve that is able to connect the blower 25 to outside air is provided. The respective upstream ends of the air introduction pipes 26a, 26b and the upstream end of the pipe are gathered in an outside-air intake part 37 that has a silencer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
