To provide a handrail with assuredly sufficient strength in an outside corridor, and a building with the handrail.SOLUTION: A handrail 7 is arranged in an outside corridor 4 on upper floors of a multistory building (Building 1, Building Unit 2). The handrail 7 consists of an elongated first supporting member (Coping Base 11) with both ends supported by a brace member 5 built either on the building 1 or on the ground, multiple panel units 14 with upper ends supported by the first supporting member 11 and intermediate support spars 17, placed between neighboring unit panels 14 with upper ends connected to the first supporting member 11 and lower ends connected to the edge of a floor beam 27 extending in the width direction of the outside corridor 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】手摺強度を十分確保することのできる外廊下の手摺及び建物を提供すること。【解決手段】複数階を有する建物本体（建物１、建物ユニット２）の上階に設けられた外廊下４の手摺７である。この手摺７は、両端がそれぞれ建物本体１または地面に立設された支柱５のいずれかに支持された長尺状の第１の支持部材（笠木ベース１１）と、第１の支持部材１１に上端部が支持された複数のパネルユニット１４と、一対のパネルユニット１４の間に設けられ、上端部が第１の支持部材１１に連結され、下端部が外廊下４の幅方向に延びる床梁２７の端部に連結された中間支柱１７とを有する。【選択図】 図１
