SILICON NITRIDE-BASED COMPOUND SINTERED COMPACT, CUTTING TOOL, AND TOOL FOR FRICTION AGITATION JOINING
To provide a silicon nitride-based compound sintered compact excellent in wear resistance without degrading defect resistance, and to provide a cutting tool and a tool for friction agitation joining using the sintered compact having the excellent performance.SOLUTION: This invention relates to: a silicon nitride-based compound sintered compact, comprising sialon crystalline particles, and one or more crystalline particles A selected from carbide crystalline particles of group IV-VI in the periodic table, nitride crystalline particles of group IV-VI therein, and carbon nitride crystalline particles of group IV-VI therein, wherein in an arbitrary cut surface, the number of solitary crystalline particles A1, which exist in a sialon crystal grain boundary without contacting other crystalline particles A among the crystalline particles A, accounts for 3% or more of the total number of the crystalline grain A; and a cutting tool and a tool for friction agitation joining using the sintered compact. The content of the crystalline particles A is 30-65 vol.%, preferably 45-65 vol.%, more preferably 60-65 vol.%.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】耐欠損性を損なうことなく、耐摩耗性に優れた窒化珪素質複合焼結体の提供、更に、この性能の優れた窒化珪素質複合焼結体を用いた切削工具及び摩擦攪拌接合用工具の提供。【解決手段】サイアロン結晶粒子と、周期表第4−6族元素の炭化物結晶粒子、周期表第4−6族元素の窒化物結晶粒子、及び周期表第4−6族元素の炭窒化物結晶粒子から選ばれた1種類以上の結晶粒子Aと、を含有し、任意の切断面において、結晶粒子Aのうち他の結晶粒子Aに接することなくサイアロン結晶粒界に存在する孤立した結晶粒子A1の個数が、結晶粒子Aの総個数の3%以上である窒化珪素質複合焼結体であり、又、該窒化珪素質符号焼結体を用いた切削工具、及び摩擦撹拌接合用工具。結晶粒子Aの含有量が30〜65体積%、好ましくは45〜65体積%、より好ましくは60〜65体積%である複合焼結体。【選択図】図1
