To provide a cover body which is provided to cause a vehicle or the like that is about to contact a cable of a guard cable, more likely to contact a side face having a larger contact area than the cable.SOLUTION: A cover body is made to provide a cylindrical body part including a larger hollow part than a cable outer shape, and a cutout part is formed across the whole length in the longer direction at the lower part of a cylindrical wall of the body part. At the cutout part, a first descent part protruding downward is formed on one end part of the cylindrical wall while a second descent part protruding downward is formed on the other end part, in which the second descent part and the first descent part are formed to allow for abutment to each other. The first descent part and the second descent part are formed on an end part of the cylindrical wall at the cutout part, if the first descent part and the second descent part are temporarily moved laterally or upwardly by receiving wind or an external force, they return downward due to their weight. Accordingly, when contacting the guard cable, a vehicle or the like is caused to hardly contact respective descent parts and the cutout part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
【課題】ガードケーブルのケーブルへ車両などが接触したときに、ケーブルよりも接触面積が大きくなされた側面へより接触しやすくなされるように設けたカバー体を提供する。【解決手段】ケーブルの外形よりも大きな中空部を有する筒状の本体部を備えさせ、この本体部の筒壁の下部に長手方向の全長に亘る切欠部を形成させ、この切欠部に相対する前記筒壁の一方の端部に下方へ突出する第一の下垂部を形成し、他方の端部に下方へ突出する第二の下垂部を形成し、この第二の下垂部と前記第一の下垂部とを互いに当接可能に形成する。前記切欠部に相対する前記筒壁の端部に第一の下垂部や第二の下垂部を下方へ突出させて形成するので、これらが風や外力を受けて一時的に側方や上方へ向かっても、その重量によって下方へもどる。このため、ガードケーブルへ車両などが接触するときに、各下垂部や切欠部へ接触しにくくなされる。【選択図】 図４
