To provide an emergency water storage tank that can suppress retention of water in the storage tank, and that can be shortened so that connecting pipes do not get in the way and can easily secure an installation space without any construction work even when retrofitting after building construction.SOLUTION: The emergency water storage tank comprises a water storage tank 2, an inflow pipe 3 and an outflow pipe 4. The water storage tank is installed on a ground 11 so that a length direction is vertical, is covered with a heat insulating material 12, and has an inflow port 13 at a top part and an outflow port 14 at a bottom part, the inflow pipe has one end connected to an upstream side of a water supply pipe 22 of a water heater 21 through an inflow joint part 23 and the other end connected to the inflow port 13 of the water storage tank 2, and the outflow pipe has one end connected to the outflow port 14 of the water storage tank 2 and the other end connected to a downstream side of the water supply pipe 22 of the water heater 21 through an outflow joint part 24 fixed to the inflow joint part 23.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
