To provide an operation detector for a vehicle which can detect an operation from the outside of the vehicle correctly.SOLUTION: An operation detector for a vehicle comprises sensor electrodes 33, 34 etc. provided on a vehicle door having a window opening portion, and having detection ranges A1, A2, A3, A4 in which each static capacity increases by approaching of a detection object, the sensor electrodes of a detector 30 have a second electrode having the detection range A2 which spreads toward the outside of the vehicle, and a fourth electrode 34 having the detection range A4 which spreads toward the inside of the vehicle, and the second electrode and the fourth electrode 34 become independent electrically.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
