PRODUCTION METHOD OF SILICON CARBIDE-COATED CARBON FIBER, SILICON NITRIDE-COATED CARBON FIBER AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF, PRODUCTION METHOD OF SILICON NITRIDE
To provide a silicon carbide-coated carbon fiber or a silicon nitride-coated carbon fiber of which the surface is coated with a silicon carbide coating film or a silicon nitride coating film having excellent adhesiveness with a comparatively simple process, and to provide a production method of silicon nitride using the carbon fiber as a carbon source.SOLUTION: Silicon carbide is formed on a surface of a carbon fiber by bringing silicone into contact with the surface of the carbon fiber and calcining the carbon fiber of which the surface is in contact with silicone in vacuum atmosphere at 1,420 to 2,800°C. Silicon nitride is formed on a surface of a carbon fiber or the entire carbon fiber is converted into silicon nitride by bringing silicone into contact with the surface of the carbon fiber and calcining the carbon fiber of which the surface is in contact with silicone in nitrogen atmosphere at 1,300 to 1,550°C.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
【課題】比較的簡単な工程で、密着性のよい炭化ケイ素被膜または窒化ケイ素被膜で表面が被覆された炭化ケイ素被覆炭素繊維または窒化ケイ素被覆炭素繊維を提供するとともに、炭素繊維を炭素源として用いた窒化ケイ素の製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】炭素繊維の表面にシリコーンを接触させ、表面がシリコーンと接触した状態にある炭素繊維を真空雰囲気下1420℃以上2800℃以下の温度で焼成し、炭素繊維の表面に炭化ケイ素を形成する。炭素繊維の表面にシリコーンを接触させ、表面がシリコーンと接触した状態にある炭素繊維を窒素雰囲気下1300℃以上1550℃以下の温度で焼成し、炭素繊維の表面に窒化ケイ素を形成するか、炭素繊維全体を窒化ケイ素に転換する。【選択図】図10
