To propose an exterior material of a building structure that can maintain high water-stopping properties for a long period of time without performing cumbersome work of filling sealing members, and that can efficiently construct a wall, and a method for constructing a wall using the exterior material.SOLUTION: There is provided an exterior material comprising a plate material body 1 having a contoured shape defined by a width edge and a longitudinal edge, the exterior material building a wall of a building structure by holding the plate material body 1 in the upright posture and overlapping the longitudinal end thereof with the end of a plate material body 1' of the other exterior material so that the plate material bodies 1 and 1' are connected together from the base side to the roof side. One end in the longitudinal direction of the plate material body 1 is provided with at least one recessed portion 2a, 2b extending continuously or intermittently toward the edge in the width direction and forming an air pocket therebetween in a state of being overlapped with the plate material body of the other exterior material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】シール部材を充填する面倒な作業を行うことなしに高い止水性を長期にわたって維持することが可能で、かつ、壁を効率的に構築できる建築構造物の外装材およびその外装材を用いた壁の構築方法を提案する。【解決手段】幅方向の端縁と長手方向の端縁とによって区画された輪郭形状を有する板材本体１を備え、該板材本体１を起立姿勢に保持したままその長手方向の端部と他の外装材の板材本体１′の端部とを相互に重ね合わせることにより該板材本体１、１′同士を土台側から屋根側に向けてつなぎ合わせて建築構造物の壁を構築する外装材において、前記板材本体１の長手方向の一端部に、幅方向の端縁に向けて連続的または断続的に伸延するとともに前記他の外装材の板材本体との重ね合わせ状態にてその相互間にエアーポケットを形成する少なくとも１本の凹部２ａ、２ｂを設ける。【選択図】図１
