To make it possible to easily attach and detach a covering body to and from a core material while increasing the attaching strength of the covering body to the core material.SOLUTION: A handrail cap piece 30 includes a core material 40 and a covering body 50 which is disposed so as to cover the core material 40 and has an open portion 51. The core material includes engaged portions provided at two open ends 46 located on both sides of an open portion 41 of the core material, and the covering body includes a main body 52, a surface layer portion 53 formed of a material harder than the main body, and a reinforcing portion 54 formed of a material harder than the surface layer portion. The surface layer portion includes an engaging portion 55 disposed at two open ends located on both sides of the open portion of the covering body, and a surface layer 56 disposed on an outer peripheral surface of the main body. The reinforcing part 54 is disposed between the main body and the surface layer adjacent to the engaging portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
