GLASS MELTING FURNACE AND GLASS MELTING METHOD
To provide a glass melting furnace capable of suppressing heat radiation from the glass melting furnace while suppressing corrosion of a side wall part of a dissolver caused by molten glass at an opening part.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a glass melting furnace 100 which comprises a dissolver 10 and an upper structure 20 covering the dissolver 10 from above. The glass melting furnace is characterized in that: the dissolver 10 comprises a bottom part 11 and a side wall part 12; the upper structure 20 comprises a lateral wall part 21 and a ceiling part 22 arranged above the lateral wall part 21; the side wall part 12 comprises a first side wall part 12A located below the lateral wall part 21 and a second wall part 12B located outside the first side wall part 12A and forming an opening part with the lateral wall part 21; and a cooling member 30 comprising a cooling structure 31 and a fireproof structure 35 is arranged at the opening part, in which the cooling structure 31 is formed of a metal member and a flow passage for a refrigerant inside, and the fireproof structure 35 covers a circumference of the cooling structure 31, and is formed of a monolithic refractory.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
