To provide a panel type soundproof material in which foam made of phenolic resin and a reinforcing material are combined, which is easy to manufacture, lightweight, and easy to cut at a grounding site.SOLUTION: A soundproof material 1 includes phenol resin foam 10 having open cells, and a resin mesh sheet 20 attached to at least one of one surface and the other surface of the phenol resin foam 10 with an adhesive. In the mesh sheet 20, a part of the thickness of the mesh sheet is embedded in the phenol resin foam 10 substantially uniformly, and the adhesive is penetrated in the open cells of the phenol resin foam 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
