To provide a method for reducing elution of hexavalent chromium capable of further efficiently reducing elution of hexavalent chromium from an object containing hexavalent chromium.SOLUTION: A method for reducing elution of hexavalent chromium of this invention comprises mixing (A) a thiosulfate and (B) one or more compounds selected from a naphthalene-based polymer, a polycarboxylic acid-based polymer, a lignin sulfonic acid-based polymer and a melamine-based polymer with an object to be processed that contains hexavalent chromium.SELECTED DRAWING: None
