To provide an earth retaining structure and a wale installation method, which can easily manufacture a support member for supporting back-filling concrete and can efficiently install a formwork of the back-filling concrete.SOLUTION: An earth retaining structure according to one embodiment comprises an earth retaining wall 11, and a wale 12 facing the earth retaining wall 11, and back-filling concrete that is placed in a gap P between the earth retaining wall 11 and the wale 12. The earth retaining structure 10 comprises: a bottom member 20 located below the gap P; a suspending member 30 extending from vertically above the gap P to suspend the bottom member 20 located below the gap P; and a form member 40 for accommodating the back-filling concrete in the gap P.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
