To provide a roof construction method that can avoid changing a stage number of a metallic roof material to be arranged on a roof surface due to an inclination of the roof surface, and the metallic roof material used therefor.SOLUTION: A roof construction method according to the present invention is the roof construction method arranging a plurality of metallic roof materials on a roof surface. The metallic roof material includes an eaves side roof material and a ridge side roof material overlapped and disposed on the eaves side roof material. The roof construction method comprises the step (step S1) of determining a working width of the eaves side roof material in accordance with an inclination of the roof surface so that horizontal projection dimension that projects the working width of the eaves side roof material to a horizontal surface becomes a constant dimension.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
